Hilti hosts benefit concert for local social institute as part of 75th anniversary activities

Schaan (FL), September 11, 2016 – A benefit concert was held Saturday evening at the Montforthaus, in Feldkirch, Austria for the “Herzenswunsch”, or heart’s desire, project of the Association for Assisted Living in Liechtenstein (VBW). The concert, part of the Hilti Corporation’s 75th anniversary celebrations, featured the Simón Bolívar Orchestra of Venezuela led by maestro Gustavo Du¬da¬mel and played to a full house. Hilti also announced a generous donation to the “Herzenswunsch” project.

The aim of the VBW project is to replace the existing accommodations for the adolescent residential community in Vaduz by relocating the community to a new location which can more suitably meet the group’s attendant social and educational needs. The residence is a place where children and adolescents subject to difficult family or other life situations can be cared for in a more intensive and targeted manner and where they can progress in a more flexible and integrated framework, helping them to develop new perspectives.

Proceeds from ticket sales were supplemented by a donation from Hilti, resulting in a total amount of CHF 250,000 that will go directly towards the project. “We are very pleased to support such a pioneering project and to make a contribution to improving the living conditions of children and young people in our region,” said Hilti Group Board Member Michael Hilti at the outset of the concert evening. This amount is designed to help build a residence “that will meet their needs and provide them a space to acquire independence and a sense of responsibility.”

The symbolic check was received by Dr. Oskar Ospelt, Honorary President and founding member of the VBW, who offered these words of thanks: “This project is our true heart’s desire, but also represents a financial effort. We are happy that the concertgoers and Hilti have brought us a large step closer to our goal. As good as Hilti is in fastening technology, the company’s commitment to supporting young people is just as strong.”
