Post drilling near the edge of a RC beam

I have a scenario where I have to post drill near at the edge of a RC beam (approximately 150mm away from the edge to the center of bolt) for base plate connection. Therefore, by using PROFIS Engineering, may I know whether it is advisable to analyze the post drilling by considering the RC beam to be in uncracked condition?

Hi Mr Tan,

Thank you for your query.

According to Eurocode 2: Design of Concrete Structures - Part 4: Design for fastenings for use in concrete, it is conservative to assume that the concrete is cracked over its service life (4.7).

However, should uncracked be assumed, further verifications will be required as defined in clause 4.7.
Below you may find the snapshot of the said clause for reference:

Should you require further clarifications, please feel free to reach out to us again here or through my.engineering@hilti.com

Thanks,
